For the past 20 years, Network Health employees have participated in Adopt-A-Family programs around the holidays, purchasing gifts for those in need.
Network Health’s tradition of giving began in 1998, when employees adopted a family from the Salvation Army. Jenn Resch, Manager of Enterprise Analytics, has been involved in the program since the beginning.
“Back then, we called the family to get their wish lists and arrange drop off times. We could wrap and deliver the gifts personally,” she says. “It has continued to evolve since it started, but the outcome has always been the same – reaching those in need in our communities.”
This year, Network Health employees at our Menasha headquarters adopted the Neenah-Menasha Boys and Girls Brigade and Harbor House. The two organizations requested items which were added as ornaments to our tree. Employees could participate by removing an ornament, purchasing the item and returning it unwrapped. The collected items were given to the organizations to distribute as they see fit.
“We had an overwhelming response and could fulfill many of the items these organizations requested,” Jenn says. “The needs ranged from bath towels to stuffed animals and toys.”
Our Brookfield office also joined in the spirit of giving. For the second year in a row, they provided gifts for children at the Next Door Foundation and for the first time, they provided gifts for seniors at Luther Manor. Government Programs Manager Hannah Zillmer helped deliver the donated gifts to the two organizations.
“We ended up supporting 20 children and 30 seniors with our giving this year,” she says. “It’s such a rewarding feeling to know that you’re adding to the joy of someone’s holiday.”
