In our last three articles on the social determinants of health, we’ve discussed some of the significant inhibitors which keep populations from receiving adequate health care. These determinants include environmental and external factors like lack of access, transportation, prescription drug costs and more.
In today’s final installment of our series on the social determinants of health, we want to spotlight an important resource for those who may be negatively affected by the social determinants of health – the Aging and Disability Resource Centers of Wisconsin (ADRC).
The Aging and Disability Resource Centers of Wisconsin are the first places to go to get accurate, unbiased information on all aspects of life related to aging or living with a disability. Located in communities across the state of Wisconsin, the ADRC provides information on a variety of programs and services that help people understand a variety of long-term care options that are available. Whether you are looking for programs or benefits, the friendly staff are there to help with access to publicly funded long-term care.
Convenient services provided include the following.
All of the following contact information pieces come from the Wisconsin Department of Health Service’s ADRC resource locator homepage, which you can find by clicking here.
Contact your local ADRC with any questions or needs you may have relating to aging or disability.
