Whether we like it or not, summer is over, and fall has descended upon Wisconsin. Before you know it, winter will be here, and you’ll be regretting that you didn’t make the most of the fall season. That is, unless you check out our top picks for fall fun in northeast Wisconsin.

Fall is a beautiful time of year in Wisconsin, but it isn’t long-lasting. Thankfully, there is plenty to do in the months of October and November before the snow begins falling and temperatures become too cold for outside activities. Before you start making plans, please note that although we do our best to provide accurate info, it’s always best to confirm before you leave home.

2022 Halloween Events in Northeast Wisconsin

Zoo Boo at NEW Zoo & Adventure Park

Each year, the NEW Zoo near Green Bay decorates for Halloween and hosts a wide range of Halloween-themed fun. There’s still time to attend Zoo Boo this year, with upcoming dates on Oct. 21 and 22. Anyone over the age of 1 will receive a bag of candy, and you can expect activities like a haunted maze, skeleton safari and more.

Fright Night at the Park in Greenville

Just outside Appleton, Fright Night at the Park has something for all ages at Greenville Community Park with dates on Oct. 21, 22, 27, 28 and 29. The more kid-friendly time of the event is between 6-8 p.m. while the adult portion begins at 8 p.m.,, which is meant to be a bit more frightening for the older crowd. Activities include a bonfire, hayride through an abandoned zoo, a haunted pavilion and live music.

Haunted Happenings at The Grand in Oshkosh

There’s a lot of history within the walls of the The Grand in Oshkosh, much of which is highlighted during the Haunted Happenings ghost tours taking place throughout the month of October. Tours are currently scheduled for Oct. 20, 23, 30 and 31, with family-friendly and late-night tour options available.

Pumpkin Patches, Apple Orchards and Fall Foliage

Pumpkin Patches and Apple Orchards in Northeast Wisconsin

There is no shortage of pumpkin patches in the area. Options like The Little Farmer in Malone and BerryLand in Abrams are both great options. If you waited a little too late in the season to get a good choice of pumpkin, many of these locations are still worth visiting, as they will often have activities such as corn mazes and hayrides to enjoy. If you’re looking for apples instead, you can also consider Hofacker’s Hillside Orchard in Appleton or Rasmussen’s Apple Acres in Oshkosh.

Areas to View Fall Foliage

One of the benefits of the impending winter here in Wisconsin is the chance to see beautiful colors on fall leaves. That said, you’ll want to time it right and make sure you don’t miss the opportunity. For much of northeast Wisconsin, fall foliage peaks around the 3rd of 4th week of October. Depending on the trees and conditions, however, you may still be able to enjoy fall foliage into November as well. Below are some areas to visit or drive through if you’d like to enjoy the changing colors.

Fall is a great time of year in Wisconsin, as long as you make the most of it before the winter freeze. Be sure to check back to the Network Health website for more community updates like this, along with health and wellness tips.
