As we’ve previously touched on here at Network Health, the indoor life is the safest one for the time being. If you’re following the #SaferAtHome guidelines, your range of entertainment and possible pastimes has likely shrunk significantly.

Last week, we looked at online courses you can take for free during this time to add or develop skills. Today, we’re going to turn our attention to some excellent and informative podcasts that will help you grow in the amount you know regarding health and wellness topics.

Here are our favorite healthy living and wellness podcasts that will help pass the time while staying #SaferAtHome indoors.

Proof: A Podcast from America’s Test Kitchen

New episodes release Thursdays

Although food is arguably the most central part of a healthy lifestyle, it’s something we often take for granted. Our modern society has millions of nourishment options. This podcast from National Public Radio (NPR)’s famed America’s Test Kitchen, dives into the stories behind the foods we crave and the ones we don’t. Knowing the science and history of food helps us better understand which food is good for us and which food only looks or tastes good.

The One Mind Podcast

New episodes release monthly/bi-weekly

Unlike the other podcasts highlighted, The One Mind podcast focuses on meditation and mindfulness as a central goal. It stands out for its practical assessment of the limited time most of us have (even during #SaferAtHome), offering simple tips on how to get the most out of the few minutes we enjoy between tasks. It’s not all vibes and auras, however. Host Morgan Dix frequently explores the science behind meditation and the research that reveals its viability – and even necessity – in 21st-century America.

Deep Energy Podcast

New episodes release daily

Up until this point, our list has been primarily comprised of informative podcasts. The Deep Energy podcast, however, is something different. Rather than learning about how to enjoy a healthier life, the Deep Energy podcast provides relaxing and soothing ambient music, reiki and sounds to help you get to sleep easier. We know sleep is an extremely important part of health and wellness for both your body and mind. Using a podcast like Deep Energy to get to sleep will help you feel more alert and focused while working toward other goals during #SaferAtHome.
